Soquel, California. A quiet town in Santa Cruz County, next to Santa Cruz and Capitola.By Terri Woods – Terri sells real estate in Santa Cruz County and North Monterey County.
What is there to do in Soquel? Well, you can spend a relaxing day meandering through the many antique shops, looking for those rare treasures. Or you can get on your bike and explore the Santa Cruz Mountains. Or you can grab a cup of coffee at the local cafe. There are many local wineries as well.
Soquel is just minutes to the beach and the Santa Cruz night life too.
FUN FACT: Soquel actually got its name from westerners’ mispronunciation of a word meaning “the creek runs through the city.” The Ohlone Indians word for the city was “Osocalis” which was morphed into “Soquel.” (FYI – Soquel Creek runs through the city and out through Capitola to the Monterey Bay.)
